Most master’s programmes focus on the academic learning whereas I found MALP had a strong experiential aspect to it as well. This meant that I could put what I learned immediately into practice.

The support I received from my supervisors for the research portion of my degree was outstanding. Not only did they ask insightful questions to help me develop my topic and my approach, they provided guidance and moral support for overcoming the challenges that I faced along the way.

Massey has very informative lecturers who have had experience in their field of choice before turning to teaching. This background allows for great examples to be used during lectures, bringing real-world context to the course.
Mathew Hardie

Massey University’s extramural programme appealed as I was initially contracting for a few organisations and no two days were the same. I wouldn’t have been able to attend lectures. Distance learning was perfect for me – it is such a good way to learn when you have a busy working and family life.
Michele Hider
Master of Management (Communication)
The MBA for me wasn’t so much about the theory but the overall journey. I gained a network of like minded business people, a space to generate ideas and be challenged, and a platform of general business knowledge to build and grow in my leadership career.
Rob Woolner
Executive Master of Business Administration
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Massey. I experienced many aspects of tertiary study from living on campus as a first-year student, to studying extramurally while working full time, and then being invited back to lecture an HR paper. The courses I took, particularly in my postgraduate studies, provided an excellent grounding for my career.
Sharon Grant
Master of Management (Human Resource Management)
Massey Business School runs a start-up type competition. We had to form groups around ideas people had for new businesses and spend an intensive weekend doing research and getting input from experienced entrepreneurs. Then we pitched our idea to a panel of investors. I found those experiences invaluable.
Simon Stephenson
Bachelor of Business (Entrepreneurship and Innovation)
My Diploma of Business Studies where I focused on entrepreneurship, gave me the foundation I needed to launch my business – Scrub Collab. The broad range of skills we learned during the programme – particularly accounting and start-up know-how, gave me the confidence to turn a hobby into a money-making enterprise.
