I am a design graduate from the National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi, India and have more than 21 years of work experience in the design industry.
Over the last decade, I have been involved with design for a social cause, wherein I have developed a deep understanding in the importance and potential of design to bring change.
I am currently pursuing my Master of Design by research through Massey University’s College of Creative Arts. I am studying sustainable design, researching how the link between craft and design can address sustainability issues both for design and craft.
I am very thankful to the University to enable me to work further on my area of interest as it has provided me with all the relevant support yet freedom to take my work forward. I am also extremely grateful for being granted a Masterate Scholarship by the University.
The support and guidance extended by my supervisors and the warm and friendly environment of the country has made me look further into the possibility of pursuing my PhD at Massey! New Zealand as a country supports my family to be with me while I am pursuing my studies which is a big help. Without this possibility, I would not have been able to achieve this.
