On 12th February 2016, the NZCPA hosted a conference on UAV technologies that attracted approximately 80 people from a range of different industries and organisations.
There was a mixture of research and commercial applications presented, including two international speakers, and a presentation from Altus about the work they are doing in the US market. The conference was low-key, well received and informative.
At the panel discussion, a number of issues were raised, for example; the volume of data being produced, stored and uploaded – internet access/cost and procession time; data visualisation for end users; business growth – development of exportable systems and operations; and creating targeted/catered solutions for high value crop farmers.
