The School of Veterinary Science offers the Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc), which qualifies you to register as a veterinarian. This programme will help you become a veterinary professional with the skills to sustain the health, welfare and productivity of companion animals, farm animals and wildlife.
The Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) is New Zealand's veterinary qualification, recognised internationally.
This five-year programme gives you training in a broad range of species, with hands on, problem-solving learning and the chance to track in your area of interest in your final year. Acceptance into the vet programme is very competitive. Find out about entry requirements and programme details.

We have four clinics – companion animal (dogs and cats), farm (production animals such as cows, sheep etc), equine (horses) and Wildbase (wild animals – mainly birds).
There are specific advantages to US or Canadian students studying to become a vet at Massey University. We also offer support and detailed information to counselors.

Massey University’s BVSc programme was first accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association Council on Education in 2002. Site visits from the accrediting bodies are now held jointly and Massey’s last accreditation visit was in May 2014. The BVSc is currently fully accredited and the next site visit is due in 2021.
